Weird Gold Items You Would Never Be Able To Sell For Cash

0

While gold is commonly used to make jewellery and coins, it is used in other things as well. Gold is used in electronics, in health applications and dental applications. Gold is special, gold is expensive, but it has been used in some of the weirdest things. Gold is a very easy metal to work with. It is soft and so malleable that it can easily be moulded into any shape. You might have heard of some of the weird things that wealthy people do with their homes. How they adorn their homes with gold, how it is made to run up walls and drip from the ceilings. Everyone has heard about the golden toilet that President Trump supposedly has in his home. That shows a real love for this shiny yellow metal, but what other weird things have people made out of gold.

#1. The Golden Grill

Australians love a good barbeque. They love it so much that they would buy a $150,000 golden grill. This grill was created by barbeque company, Beefeater. You can buy this golden grill to really impress during the summer months if you can bear the idea of barbecuing slabs of meat on gold. You could bet a sizeable amount of cash if you ever had to sell gold for cash.

#2. Gold Cupcake

Gold has been used in food in various places, but in Dubai, they take things further as only an oil-rich country can. You can get a golden cupcake and strawberries for about $793. However, this means you would have to fly to Dubai to have a taste of this delicacy. Of course, if you are willing to lay that much for a gold cupcake, then you don’t have to worry about the cost of travel.

#3. Gold Cars

Back in 2013 the world got to see the $7.5 million golden Lamborghini. At that time, it was said to be the world’s most expensive car. Unfortunately, this was not designed to go on the road. Things changed as the trend caught on and of course, the Saudi’s were quick to have their own fleet of luxury gold cars. Super rich Saudi, Turku Bin Abdullah has caused a stir in London with his fleet of gold cars. He has a Bentley, Lamborghini and Rolls Royce that he has flown from Saudi Arabia to London so he can drive them down the streets of some of the poshest neighbourhoods of London. His gold fleet consists of a $480,000 Mercedes G63, a $286,000 Bentley Flying Spur, a $455, 000 Rolls-Royce and a Lamborghini Aventador SV worth $455,000. It costs more than $26,000 to fly each car from Saudi Arabia. He takes them everywhere with him, but why have a fleet of gold cars if you can’t drive them whenever you want to?

#4. The Golden Loo

Maurizio Cattelan created a golden loo which is installed in the Guggenheim Museum. In New York. This is a fully functioning, pure gold toilet. This is said to be functional art created to highlight the inequality that is faced by people in the U.S. There is an entire bathroom made from gold that was unveiled in Hong Kong in 2001.

#5. Gold Earphones

Gold earphones are a cheaper option for anyone looking to own some unusual thing made of gold. They cost about $100 but since there aren’t a lot of them in the world, the price might be different after a couple of months. These work just like normal earphones. They come with a nice leather pouch and maintenance instructions.
