- Walking Street
When you stroll down Walking Street, you’ll experience sights and sounds unlike anything else you’ve experienced in Thailand so far. After 6 pm, all vehicle traffic is ceased. You’ll see hordes of people going in and out of the many night clubs, restaurants, and bars.
In fact, during daylight hours, the street is practically deserted. But when those neon lights come on and the sun sinks behind the horizon, it becomes a whole different world.
- Ripley’s Believe It or Not
Ripley’s Believe It or Not Pattaya features hundreds of different exhibits that will fascinate and disturb. Showing only true facts and stories, the displays in this space are truly stranger than fiction.
But it’s not just a museum. There are also fun rides, a 12D Moving Theatre, and a house of wax figures. Plus, there’s the Sky Rider – a white and yellow balloon that can be seen floating over Pattaya beach.
- Coral Island
Koh Larn, also known as Coral Island, is 7.5 km away from Pattaya Beach. For those who want to get away from the touristy, overcrowded beaches, Coral Island is a true paradise.
Visitors tend to travel to the island in the morning, stay a few hours, and then head back to Pattaya Beach as the sun starts to set. And make sure that you take one of the excellent guided tours on the island.
- Pattaya Viewpoint
Khao Pattaya View Point sits high up on Pratumnak Hill. From here, you’ll get a beautiful panoramic view of the city’s crescent bay. Be aware, this location offers breathtaking views, which means it’s also very popular with tourists.
You’ll also find plenty of food vendors and people trying to sell you expensive souvenirs. And although this might sound annoying, the tourists tend to travel in groups. So every ten minutes or so you’ll have some peace and quiet to take in the glorious views.
- Wat Phra Khao Yai (“Big Buddha Hill”)
At Big Buddha Hill, you’ll find the titular “Big Buddha.” This statue is the biggest Buddha depiction in the region and stands at 18 meters tall. Sitting 100 meters above sea level, the Big Buddha watches over the city and beaches.
The Buddha is surrounded by a temple complex and detailed garden. When you walk around, you’ll hear many bells clanging and see people burning incense. This creates an introspective and calming aura.
The site isn’t just for tourists though. It’s also an active temple and hosts many locals who come to pray.
