Learn How Air Conditioners Work To Cool Your Home

0

When the summer heat comes around one thing that you will often do is walk over and just flip the switch to turn on the air conditioner. While this usually turns the air conditioner on right away, you need to realize you may want to know more about how the air conditioner actually works, outside of just flipping a switch and turning it on right away. Then you can have a better understanding on the principal that is behind the theory and know more about how it is going to help you in getting the work done of cooling off your home and how this is actually going to impact the planet and how advances in the refrigerant have helped to get the cooling done safely and without harming the planet at all.

It’s A Chemical Process

The first thing that you need to realize is why this will impact the planet is the process of getting the air cooled off. The basic premise of the air conditioning is it is going to use chemicals that are going to cool the air off inside of your home really quickly and under quite a bit of pressure. So you are going to get the air cooled off by the alternative refrigerants and this will help you in getting the air cooled off to the point that you are used to having inside of your home.

Now, what you will find is the air conditioner does have three key components to it that are going to be used and these include the compressor, condenser, and the evaporator. All of these parts when they are combined are going to make it quite a bit easier for you to get the heated air pulled from your home and the cooled air pushed back into the house. So how do all three of these when they are combined actually help you in cooling your home and keeping it cool when the thermostat is building up in your home?

Well, the first thing that you have is the thermostat. You are going to turn this down and turn the air conditioner down to get it turned on. This is going to cause the fans on all the systems, including the blower fan on the HVAC. When you do this it causes the system to start to pull the hot air from your home and to the air conditioner unit. When it reaches the air conditioner you will hear the compressor running, it is the constant hum that you hear all the time. Typically you can even hear it kick on as well and that is what causes the power surges in some homes, not the fan coming on.

Once it reaches the air conditioner you will notice it is going to have a fluid system that is going to run around the copper pipes that are inside of the fins that are on the outside of your unit. These are going to be a very high pressured gas that is going to be very hot, make sure if you are looking not to touch the pipes. This heated gas is actually going to help cool the air out as it is going to be moving really quickly and the fins will actually act like a radiator. In fact, if you go and put your hand by the fins it is going to actually have hot air coming off of them and this will allow you to know the hot air is coming from your home and this keeps the heat getting removed from the home.

What else you will notice is, you have the condenser as the next stop along the line. This is where the liquid is going to go into and be condensed down to. These are going to allow you to get the air cooled down as it has a lot of the heat radiated out from the fins and the copper pipes that are around. What else happens is the pressure changes in the system here as the liquid that had been moving through the system is going to turn back into a gas as it leaves because of the immense pressure drop.

Now, the gas, which you are able to breath at the time is going to be turned back into a gas and that is what will eventually be going back to the house as a cooled air, but not the actual gas itself but the cooled air. The gas itself will be going back to the compressor to get ready to be used for the next batch of air that will be coming through the air conditioner.

Obviously you will notice that it is going to have some heat that is going to happen when the air is being exchanged and the gas is being turned into a liquid and back and forth. However, what you will find is the big fan that you have in the air conditioner is going to help you in getting the air moved around the air conditioner. So you will notice the fan is going to have hot air coming out of it quite a bit, but it is also going to be the fan that is going to help in getting the unit cooled off and keeping the air moving in the proper way.

Being able to turn the switch on for your air conditioner is something that a lot of people do, but they never understand how the air conditioner works. This is when you should know more about how the air conditioner is going to work and how it will actually be cooling off your air. Once you know about this, it will be very easy for you to get the air cooled off in a way that you never imagined possible and understand more about the way the air conditioner works. Then you can start to feel good about the air conditioner and know the impact it makes on the environment.
