Modern design
The modern style derives from the Modernism movement that came about in the 1920. It should not be confused with the term “modern,” which refers to contemporary trends. It should also not be confused with contemporary style, which likewise relates to design trends of the current age.
Traditional design
Traditional style is inspired by older and more classical European design trends, but that does not necessarily imply it is outmoded. It is a style, which lends comfort, familiarity and predictability to a room, making a space feel warm and friendly. There are no surprises in a conventionally planned home, and everything is clean, quiet and calculated.
Contemporary design
Contemporary style should not be confused with modern style. If your client wants a contemporary home, it suggests they are into current design trends. It is not a static trend but rather a developing one that adjusts to current times. Contemporary style is often built on simplicity, sophistication and clear lines.
Industrial design
Industrial style is influenced by the industrial working environment where machine, metal and brick were king. In our day and age, it promotes a building’s raw and exposed materials. However, that does not mean it has solely reserved for individuals who live in lofts — any area can be transformed into an industrial-style home with the proper color palette, materials and furnishings.
Transitional design
The transitional style is a combination of traditional and contemporary. It combines the best of both worlds in that it is cozy and sleek at the same time. This style relies on texture and substance above color.
Rustic design
Rustic style is all about introducing natural and earthy elements into a home. Cottages and townhouses are commonly created in this style, but it is becoming more and more popular among city inhabitants. Rustic style contains items from the outdoors such as twigs, logs, and reclaimed wood.
A bohemian look
The boho look is perfect for anyone with a free spirit and a penchant for bright colors, vintage pieces, and multiple layers. Beauty, turmoil, and culture collide in this style. Often decorated with mementos from travels or flea markets, it lets the homeowner to exhibit their uniqueness. An orderly clutter is embraced in this type of interior design.
Design with a focus on simplicity and minimalism
The concept of “less is more” lies at the heart of the minimalist design aesthetic. There is less clutter, less furniture, and less accessories in this room. There is a lot of white space around everything. Open spaces, few furniture pieces, and a lot of white will be required if your client prefers a minimalist design.
