Cylinders
The engine of the motorcycle is made from cast iron. These materials need to be very strong as they have to bear very high temperatures. It is to provide a sealed space for the piston to move properly. Your bike’s power depends on the size of the cylinder and is more commonly measured in CC or centimeter cube. In India most commonly sold bikes are in the range of 125 CC to 150 CC, however, there is a growing trend towards buying bikes with a bigger engine.
Piston
Pistons drive the movement of the connecting rod, which is supposed to move up and down and provide the motorcycle the power to drive further. Through piston, the energy generated through combustion is transferred through connecting rod further. Pistons are made from cast iron, steel, aluminium, nickel, etc.
Crankshaft
The crankshaft is the shaft connecting the rods which rotate and move in and around the piston. This rotatory motion of the crankshaft pushes the chain and then the wheels of the motorcycle to go further. The different shapes of crankshaft mean different piston positions at different intervals which refer to the gear in a motorbike.
