So, you’re finally going to an escape room! Whether it’s with your friends, family or coworkers, you’re going to love it! However, you might be a bit nervous, so we came up with tips that we think might be useful for your first escape room experience.
Here are 5 tips for your first escape room experience:
- Request for Hints
Do not get stuck in the room; pacing up and down, feeling helpless. If you cannot find the needed clue after exhausting your strategies, ask for help. You can wave into a camera, use a walkie-talkie, or use any means provided to request for hints. Escape rooms are meant for fun and impactful experience. Ask for hints where the fun is gone.
- Know What to Ignore
Specific areas or items are not worth breaking a sweat over. It is not likely that the clue you need is there. Some pseudo hints are placed in the escape room to distract you and waste your time. Ignore random numbers written on the wall or furniture. Searching behind the drop ceiling tiles does not the best idea. Search places that have the potential of your clue.
- Be Organized
You should try to keep the room organized and tidy when searching for what you need to allow you to find it. Leaving the room disorganized will force you to be searching the same place over and over again. Stack books together. Arrange loose items on the table. Bunch all unused keys together in s central spot. This way, your search will be orderly, and you will be able to escape the room sooner.
- Avoid Using Excessive Force
It is not the best idea to break things in escape rooms – it is terrible for the game and players as well. Do not force anything open. Avoid climbing on the furniture or touching the ceiling. When starting, the game masters will inform you what you should not do.
- Losing is Part of the Game
Remember that escape rooms are about fun. Therefore, do not be afraid to lose. You only have to attempt the puzzles genuinely and give your best. Do not be too hard on yourself. Enjoy your time in the escape rooms.
