Admissions to integratedfirst-degreeprogrammes of BITS Pilaniis done on the basis of BITSAT, a computer based online test conducted by BITS, Pilani. The exam is a gateway for admissions toabove mentioned programmes offered at all the campuses of BITS includingPilani, Goa and Hyderabad.

Admissions to the UG programme of engineering will be made through JEE Main through the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)/ JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). On the other hand, admissions for Non-resident Indian (NRI)/Person of Indian origin (PIO)/Self Financing Foreign Student (SFFS) will be based on the marks obtained by the candidates in Class 12/ equivalent qualifying examination. Admissions to PostgraduateProgrammes of engineering is commonly based on the academic record and scores in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The merit list will be prepared on the basis of 80% weightage to GATE Score and 20% weightage to Class 10, 10+2 and graduation/Post graduation marks.

 

For Non-GATE candidates: The admission will be based on academic record and entrance test. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of 80% weightage to the marks/score obtained in the entrance test and 20% weightage to Class 10, 10+2 and graduation/Post graduation marks.

 

  1. BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru (BMSCE)

BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru, also abbreviated as BMSCE, has the unique distinction of being the first private engineering college established in the country. Admissions to BTech courses will be made through counselling based on the score obtained in the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE)/JEE Mains.

 

NRI, PIO and Foreign National, candidates are exempted from appearing in the examination if they are studying their 10+2 outside India. NRI- Sponsored candidates (those who are pursuing a 10+2 education in India but whose either of the parents is an NRI) and NRI/PIO/Foreign National candidates who are pursuing their 10+2 education in India are compulsorily required to appear in the entrance examination for becoming eligible for admission.

Admissions to the MTechprogramme will be based on the marks obtained in AGET (Amrita Graduate Entrance Test). Although, GATE qualified applicants will be given direct admission provided they have:

 

-A minimum experience of two years in relevant academic/engineering industry after a telephonic interview.

 

-Applicants who have more than 8.5 CGPA with good academic credentials, after a telephonic interview are eligible to apply. If not the applicants can choose the paper

 

Admission for NRI/PIO/Foreign National candidates is based on academic merit and performance in the personal interview.

For admissions to BTech (Bio-Technology), the admission is done as per merit prepared by Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology on the basis of NEET score.

Admissions to BTECH lateral entry courses. will be made through an offline test conducted by the institute known as Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) forDiploma in Engineering/BSc (Non-Medical) candidates.

 

Admissions to MTech. Programmes will be done by conducting offline entrance test for Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments.

 

For other departments, vacant seats shall be filled on the basis of merit prepared by giving 30% weightage to 12th marks and 70% weightage to BTech. marksup to the end of the pre-final year.

The candidates who have not appeared for the VITEEE are not eligible for admission. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their entrance examination rank and counselling conducted later.

 

Admissions to MTechProgrammes is entirely based on VIT Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) conducted by VIT in major cities across India. Selection will be donevia counselling based on the rank secured in the entrance exam. Preference will be given to candidates with a valid GATE score.

Admissions to the MTechprogramme is done through counselling based on the rank obtained in TANCET and GATE Exam.

Admissions to MTechprogrammes will be done based on the score obtained in the GATE.

 

Candidates who have not appeared for GATE exam must have to appear for entrance examination conduct by the institute itself followed by personal interview.
