Nitrogen or N2 is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas that makes up 78.09% of the air we breathe. Nitrogen generation or N2 generation systems produce high purity nitrogen directly from the air, so as to ensure an independent supply locally.
N2 generation package is optimized for respective applications and is manufactured from highest quality materials.
Nitrogen Generation Packages have high quality and solutions tailored for recovery of high purity nitrogen from the air. Easy to install and ready-to-use, these nitrogen generators with PSA deliver a high capacity nitrogen flow at the purity level needed.
What N2 Generators Provide
There is many advantages for N2 generation systems and we can list here some of them :
- Remote control and monitoring
- Proven high reliability
- Minimal operating and maintenance expenses.
- Easy system adjustments.
- Enhanced safety without the need to handle or store high pressure cylinders
- Reduced downtime due to an on-demand supply
- High purity nitrogen at consistent flow and pressure
- Compact space saving design
- Flexible modular design
The Nitrogen Generation Applications
Nitrogen generation package has many kinds of applications which include:
- Food and beverage industries:
The moment beverages or food are produced, or vegetables and fruits are harvested, an aging process begins until they completely decay. This is as a result of bacteria and other organisms. Generators are therefore used to flood the products with N2 that displaces the oxygen and prolongs the product lifetime.
- Analytical chemistry:
Nitrogen generators are required for different forms of Analytical chemistry such as Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry and Gas Chromatography where stable and continuous supply of Nitrogen is required.
- Aircraft & motor vehicle tires:
Although air is made up of 78% Nitrogen, most aircraft tires are filled with nitrogen and there are many tires and automotive shops with nitrogen generators to fill up tires, the advantage is nitrogen in a tank is dry. Nitrogen maintains a stable pressure when heated and cooled as a result of being dry and does not permeate the tyre as easily due to being a slightly larger molecule (155 pm) than O2 (152 pm).
- Chemical and petrochemical industries:
Nitrogen provides an inert environment aimed that ensures general industrial safety during cleaning and protection of process vessels. Nitrogen is used to test pipelines pressure, transport chemical agents, and regenerate used catalysts.
- Electronics:
In electronics, nitrogen serves as an antioxidant in the manufacture of electric circuits and semi-conductors.
- Membrane:
Nitrogen generator provides supervisory gas to dry pipe fire sprinkler system.
- Fire protection:
Fire protection industries use nitrogen gas for two different applications – fire suppression and corrosion prevention.
- Glass industry:
In the glass production, nitrogen proves efficient as a cooling agent for the electric arc furnace electrodes.
- Metallurgy:
The metal industry generally uses nitrogen as a means of protecting ferrous and non-ferrous metals during annealing.
- Paint-and-varnish industry:
Paint and varnish production use nitrogen for oxygen displacement during packing as a means to prevent polymerization of drying oils.
- Petroleum industry:
Nitrogen is an indispensable component in a good number of processes. It is used to create an inert environment for preventing explosions, ensure fire safety and to support transfer of hydrocarbons.
- Pharmaceutical industry:
Nitrogen ensures against explosion and fire safety in activities where fine dispersed substances are used.
