There can be various options for moving around in Italy. Trains are very convenient option and in order to move from one city to the other, train is considered to be the best option too. In order to visit the city, you can rent a car, however you must understand that traffic on Italy roads are pretty heavy and most of the roads are also narrow. Also, there are plenty of coastal areas in Italy and hence boat can also be another option for travelling in Italy.

Flying as an option

Most of the visitors who come from distant countries usually arrive at Italy by plane and many of them land at either Milan or Rome. If you are coming from any European country then you can prefer few budget airlines that fly from different European countries. If you want to travel from extreme north to south then instead of train you can prefer flying as that save lots of time. There are number of domestic airlines operating in Italy which are quite convenient.

By train

Train is very popular mode of transportation in Italy and most of the tourists travel by train to go around the country. There is a national company who provides train service in Italy. You can always find the timings of various trains from their website. You can also buy train tickets online and it is always better to do advance booking particularly if you are travelling in Italy during summer or any other tourist seasons.

During any holidays and weekend too, there are little more rush and hence you must plan to book your ticket in advance. Usually, trains move at a speed between 200 km/h to 360 km/h in the national trains depending upon the train you have chosen.

There are privately owned trains too, which offer various attractive facilities like Wi-fi, cinema car and attractive interior. They usually run at 360 km/h speed only.

Renting car

In most of the city area there are very good public transportation is available and hence in such places there is no need of renting any car. Besides that, traffic is also quite heavy and parking fees in Italian city is very high. Hence these things to be consider before renting car in Ireland particularly if you are moving within the city. Car renting can be preferable if you are travelling to countryside. Also, if you are renting any car then make sure that your GPS system is fully updated in the car. Alternately you can use your smartphone too.

Also, if you are not too expert in driving skill then prefer not to hire any car in Italy as drivers here drive very aggressively in the highway and moving in the narrow road can also be challenging. You also must have International Driving License for driving in Italy.

Travelling by boats

There are about 4,000 miles of coastline in Italy and also there are plenty of lakes and islands particularly in the city of Venice.  In such places, boats are also another option to travel. There are number of destinations that you can travel by boats in Italy.
