Has it been a while since you were able to meet up with a bunch of your high school classmates? If so, would you like to change that?
Having a high school reunion is something many people look forward to on a yearly basis.
By relieving what many look at as some of the best days of their lives, reunions can be a real blast from the past.
With that in mind, would you like to plan a great high school reunion?
How Will You Locate Everyone?
One of if not the biggest obstacles to planning a reunion is finding where all scattered to these days.
Even if you went to a small high school, chances are people move around after their graduations. As such, it can make it more difficult to track them down.
With that being the case, note how best to find people as you start the reunion planning.
Among three keys to a great time:
- Knowing where to search – To get the planning off on the right foot, you may well want to do a free people search online. Such a search can better help you find the people you want to get in touch with. Although some people go out of their way to not want to have someone find them, most can with a little effort. There are companies online with databases to help you narrow down missing friends. In using technology to get more information on folks, you can gauge what interest there is in a reunion.
- When and where to have the event – Deciding on when and where to have the event is of course important. That said you can’t wait until the last minute to plan such an event. With many classmates likely being parents and even grandparents, they have commitments. Throw in work responsibilities and even health issues and time can be hard to get together. Many reunions are either during the summer or around the holiday season. If you opt for summer, be sure to take into account the weather. If the reunion will be in an area of the country that deals with heat and humidity, best to have the event indoors. In the event you have it around Thanksgiving or before Christmas, will it be in a cold weather region? If so, take potential snow and other weather issues into consideration. As for where to have it, you might opt for a restaurant near where you all went to school. That restaurant should be able to accommodate a hundred or several hundred people. You may want to reserve the largest room possible. Another option could be a VFW or other such venue that can host hundreds of people.
- Make it fun – For some people, high school was not the easiest of times. That said everyone it seems found a way to make it through and move on. For those individuals coming to the event who did not have the best high school experiences don’t harp on the past. Talk about the good times that were had. The idea here is to reunite, see how everyone is doing, and even rekindle some old friendships.
